Anand Thapa grew up in Jaigaon, a small border town next to Phuentsholing, Bhutan. He attended school in Bhutan before moving to Darjeeling for further studies. Surrounded by lush tea gardens, colonial-era churches, and views of Mount Kanchenjunga, he developed a lasting fascination with travel.
After his studies, Anand lived in Kathmandu and several cities across India, taking on a variety of jobs. In 2013, he joined Wind Horse Tours, where he works in guest relations and marketing. Meeting travelers from different backgrounds has deepened his interest in the world and become a valuable source of learning.
Outside work, Anand enjoys bodybuilding and spending time at the gym. He is married to a French woman who has made her home with him in Jaigaon for more than a decade—a distinctive choice in this small border town, where many residents move overseas.
