Parma Ri
Manjushri Hill
Parma Ri is a smaller hill in central Lhasa, south-west of Chagpo Ri and the Potala Palace. It is held sacred to Manjushri, or Jampelyang, the bodhisattva of wisdom.
Pilgrims walk around the base and up the slope, and prayer flags mark the way. On the summit stands the Gesar Ling lhakhang, and at its foot is Kundeling Temple.
The hill is a quiet corner of the city, with views over the old town and towards the Potala.
