Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory
The Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory shows how traditional Bhutanese paper is made. The paper is made from the daphne plant using simple methods, and like rice paper is said to last longer than ordinary paper.
Visitors can watch the process, from soaking and pounding the bark to spreading the pulp and drying the sheets, and can buy paper products as souvenirs. It is a short and informative visit, and a good chance to see a living craft that is still used for scriptures, writing and decoration.
