Nepal drops the price of Mount Everest climbing permits

KATHMANDU, Nepal – Nepalese authorities have lowered the price of the permit to climb Mount Everest in order to attract more tourists.
The climbing permit will now cost $11,000 during the high season. Previously, climbers had to pay $25,000 for it.
In the past, tourists could save some money by climbing Mount Everest in groups , which gave the right to a discount, but, according Nepalese authorities, this has led to an increase in accidents.
Under the new rules, each climber will now be accompanied by a professional guide.
Off-peak season prices were also reduced
