Trandruk Monastery
Trandruk Monastery stands a short drive from Tsetang in the Yarlung Valley. It is traditionally counted among the earliest Buddhist temples of Tibet, said to have been built in the 7th century during the reign of King Songtsen Gampo as one of the temples that pinned down the demoness of the Tibetan land.
The temple is held especially sacred by Tibetans. Its main hall holds a number of old and revered images and pilgrims come to circumambulate and make offerings.
It combines well with Yumbulakhang and Tsetang in a day around the Yarlung Valley.
