Golden Gate
The Golden Gate is one of the most important master pieces of metal work in Nepal. The gate is the main entrance to the 55 windows palace and the inner courtyard towards the Taleju temple and the Nag pokhari. The gateway’s frame is of immense archaeological, historical and religious importance. Built in 1753 by king Ranajit Malla out of copper gilding. The intricate craftsmanship has led it to be called the greatest piece of Nepalese art ever created.
