Elephant Breifing
In Chitwan, elephants have long been part of the way the park is managed and explored. An elephant briefing is a short talk given by park naturalists that introduces these animals and how they are looked after.
You will learn how the elephants’ meals are prepared, what they eat each day and how their handlers, called mahouts, care for them. Naturalists also talk about the elephants’ behaviour and their place in the history of the park.
It is an easy, informal session at the stables and a good introduction before an elephant ride or a walk in the park. You can ask questions and, in most cases, see the animals up close.
