Bomdeling

Bomdeling is a protected area in the far north-east of Bhutan, in Trashiyangtse District. The landscape is one of forested hills and river valleys, and the area is known for its birdlife and for the black-necked cranes that spend the winter in this part of the country.

The village of Bomdeling and the surrounding valley are rural and quiet. Farming households live on the lower slopes, and the area sees few visitors compared with western Bhutan.

A visit here is a chance to see the quiet side of eastern Bhutan, with walks along forested trails and views of the surrounding ridges. Your guide can advise on current access, wildlife and what can be seen in the season you travel.
