About the festival
Along with tour of the Dragon, another short race called Dragon’s Fury Mountain Race also takes place on the same day from Messina (Lobesa) is Wangduephodrang to Thimphu spanning 60km.. Inaugurated in 2015 to celebrate the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty, the 4th Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the race offers participants a thrilling challenge. Starting in Messina and ascending to Dochula at 3150m, cyclists navigate a challenging uphill route before descending to Thimphu at 2330m, providing breathtaking views along the way.
