About the festival
Jomolhari Mountain Festival, held at Dangochong near Jangothang (Jhomolhari Base Camp), was inaugurated in 2014. The event fosters participation from the neighboring communities of Soe Yutey (Thimphu) and Soe Yaksa (Paro), responding to their request for such an occasion in the Jomolhari region. While primarily aimed at the local populace, tourists trekking in the area during the festival are also welcome to partake in the festivities, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage with the local culture.
