Dechenphu Tshechu Festival is held at the Dechenphu monastery in the northern part of Thimphu valley, near Dechencholing.
It is a vibrant homage to Ap GayNgyen Jakpa Melen, the guardian deity of the region. This sacred celebration draws crowds from Thimphu and beyond, as locals and visitors gather to witness an array of mesmerizing mask dances and religious rituals.
